Green Tea, The Fountain of Youth?

Green tea is one of my favorite beverages. I sweeten mine with either organic raw honey or Stevia. Not only does green tea taste great, but it also does the body good. Unlike tea that is fermented to achieve its color and taste, green tea is dried or sometimes slightly steamed retaining the green look when brewed.
Green tea contains a variety of vitamins, making it a very healthy option. It is actually used in the treatment of different conditions like weight loss, stomach disorders, vomiting, diarrhea, headaches, bone loss (osteoporosis), and solid tumor cancers, thanks to its antioxidant properties that it owes to the theonine, catechin polyphenols it contains. Green tea is believed to help keep you looking and feeling younger. Here's why.

1. It has anti-aging properties. Antioxidants found in the tea work by neutralizing free radicals present in your body, thereby delaying symptoms and signs of aging. Wrinkles and fine lines as a result of aging will take much longer to show leaving you looking younger.

2. It detoxifies the body. It is not only effective in dealing with fatigue and alcohol hangovers, but can also work amazingly in eliminating toxins from your body. This means a healthier you which add to your youthfulness.

3. It boosts endurance and stamina. This can be extremely helpful if you engage in rigorous exercises to stay fit and healthy. You will find that you can do more for longer, hence getting the best value with every effort you put into the exercises.

4. It is a stimulant. It will keep you feeling energized and fresh which means that you end up getting more done throughout the day. Blood circulation is improved, your moods are enhanced and you remain alert which is a great combination for a healthier you in all senses.

5. It boosts immunity. Nothing can make you age faster than a failing immune system. When you are exposed to viral and bacterial infections, you will not look healthy and when you are sickly you end up looking older than you really are. Green tea keeps you looking youthful thanks to the catechins preventing viruses and bacteria from attaching to your body.

6. It aids weight loss. Unhealthy weight will indeed make you look older. Green tea boosts metabolism hastening the process of consuming stored fats in your body. A cup every morning will help you shed off a few pounds bouncing you back to good health. It also reduces the levels of cholesterol as a result of its alkalinity giving you an easy time managing your weight.

7. It acts as an astringent. This is a substance that triggers tissue and muscle contraction to tone the skin and muscles. It means retaining a firm skin which keeps you looking younger; so, no more sagging skin with regular consumption of green tea. It can actually be very good for teeth and gums too. Hence, it prevents the loss of teeth commonly associated with aging.

8. It is an anti-carcinogenic. Premature aging is caused by free radicals, which are also responsible for some cancer types. The presence of catechins in green tea neutralizes the radicals and hence prevents the formation of harmful carcinogens. The risk of cancer is greatly reduced, meaning a healthier youthful.
Green tea has plenty of healthy benefits and they together add up to a healthier and youthful you. The anti-aging properties of green tea make it good for maintaining that youthful look we all desire.
